Pure Maintenance Cascades Featuring Dry Fog Technology, Ok I have a lot of questions.

Our process is not secretive or scary, it is EPA approved and FDA approved. Our process is patented and it does raise questions about the the who, what, where’s and when’s about what we do. Below should cover most questions.

I’m have having Pure Maintenance Cascades remediate mold in my home, how do I get my home ready?

Once we set a time we will send you a video on how to prepare but it is really simple. It’s best to have your home vacant during our dry fog process. You will want to plan to have people and pets away from the home for a few hours. But to get your home ready we simply ask you to disable your fire alarms and open closet doors and cupboard doors. You can also pull your bedding down if you like- it’s really that easy. We will get ahold of you the day before services that will confirm our appointment and remind you of how to get things ready.

I have really nice art and valuable items in my home, do I need to remove this things?

The short answer is no. Pure Maintenance Cascades uses a dry fog and because of the dryness of our fog we have never had an issue with any art of valuable items being damaged or altered. We have had people remove items or cover items with blankets but it really is not necessary to do this.

Do I need to remove the food that is left out in the kitchen?

Once again, short answer is no. InstaPURE and EverPURE are the dry fogs we use. The first is a sterilant and the second is an anti-microbial to protect the home from mold returning. Both of our products are FDA approved for food contact. If you are concerned about something retaining a fresh taste you can put that item in a zip lock or the refrigerator, which we would recommend whether or not you were having a treatment done.

My pets and I need to leave the home but when can we come back?

This just depends on the size of your home. Each job is different but typically you can reenter about an hour after we have finished up. Before the job a Pure Maintenance Technician will be able to let you know how long the process will take and when you can reenter the home. Keep in mind our products are safe, the reason to have to wait is to let the fog dwell. We will leave a window or two open after our process and you may notice a vinegar smell after we are done. This smell is similar to a new car smell and is not pungent, usually it will dissipate in a day or two.

Ok this all sounds great but is it really safe?

While there are certainly a lot of not safe ways to deal with mold our process is absolutely 100% safe. The products we use are considered “green” products by the EPA. We have done a lot of mold remediation with zero complaints about our products being safe.

Do I need to remove all items from the home?

Once again the items in your home can remain there. Our products have no negative effects on wood, cushions, electronic equipment or clothing. In fact it’s a good idea to keep as many of your belongings inside the home as possible. Mold spores get trapped inside fabrics, furniture, clothing, mattresses, etc. and all of those things should be treated as well.

Will the mold get behind my walls?

Our patented dry fog technology crates a 7.5 micron sized particle. A mold spore is between 12 and 30 microns. So, any place where a mold spore can get in or out of, the fog can and will penetrate those areas. It’s really rare but in some extreme cases we have been known to poke a couple of 1/8 inch holes in the dry wall between the studs and treat the back of the wall directly.

Will I need to clean everything after treatment?

I feel like a broken record, but the answer again is no, not at all. Our dry fog leaves zero residue, nothing that you may feel or see. Also, it’s important to keep in mind while we do kill mold often the stains from the mold spores will stay behind, we recommend a cleaning service take care of this. What we do leave behind is a clean environment.

Will your dry fog kill bugs or rodents?

While animals will not like our fog it will not kill them. The EPA has not approved our product nor do we claim it as a pesticide. We have noticed bugs leaving the home as we do our work.

What will the mold look like after the treatment?

Again, the stains the mold spores have created will not go away but we can recommend
cleaning services or you can clean these stains by yourself after the treatment, everything will
be safe to handle at that point. We can also recommend effective cleaners that can be bought
at the big box stores.

How long does your remediation last?

Assuming all water and moisture issues are resolved our remediation is very permanent. With minor water issues like humidity of condensation on windows, we have tested it out about 6 years and have not been able to get mold growth because of our EverPURE antimicrobial protection. With major water issues you will only get about 90 days of protection. If water issues are in the home we often will want to put off remediation until the issue has been taken care of.

How will I know if your process worked?

Our technician will take an air sample upon completing the treatment. We then send the
sample to a third party independent lab. We use an accredited mold lab that has no affiliation
with Pure Maintenance Cascades. It usually takes about 4-5 days and we are able to email the
results to you for review.
